All year NRCM’s Sustainable Maine team has been eagerly awaiting the release of the new documentary, The Story of Plastic. Well, it’s finally here, and you will have the opportunity to see it with us!

Please join NRCM and the Kittery Land Trust at the Seacoast Environmental Film Festival on Saturday, January 11, 2020, at the STAR Theatre to see The Story of Plastic and a hear a panel discussion about the film.

WHEN:                  Saturday, January 11, 2020. Movie starts at 6:30 p.m. Panel discussion featuring NRCM at 8:00 p.m.

 

The Story of Plastic is a seething exposé uncovering the ugly truth behind the current global plastic pollution crisis. Striking footage shot over three continents illustrates the ongoing catastrophe: fields full of garbage, veritable mountains of trash; rivers and seas clogged with waste; and skies choked with the poisonous runoff from plastic production and recycling processes with no end in sight. Original animations, interviews with experts and activists, and never-before-filmed scenes reveal the disastrous consequences of the flood of plastic smothering ecosystems and poisoning communities around the world – and the global movement rising up in response.

NRCM will have a table at the event where you can learn about solutions to the plastic pollution problem, and what you can do to help.
