The songs, if not the festival, remain the same - Hudson Valley 360

HUNTER — Taste of Country Music Festival, a mainstay at Hunter Mountain for seven years, will be getting a makeover, a new name and new management in 2020.

Live Nation, the promoter of the event, announced last week that the three-day country festival, formerly managed by Townsquare Media, will be known as TrailBlazer Music Festival.

Scheduled for June 12-14, 2020, the festival will feature Luke Bryan, Thomas Rhett and Dierks Bentley as headliners.

“We are beyond thrilled to welcome TrailBlazer into our family of world class country music festivals in 2020,” said Brian O’Connell, President of Live Nation Country Touring. “Our team has been working for months getting to know this festival, and we are looking forward to showing the great Country music fans in New York what we have up our sleeves!”

Other artists scheduled to appear at this time include Kelsea Ballerini, Gabby Barrett, Blanco Brown, Clare Dunn, Hardy, Jon Langston, Dylan Scott, Matt Stell, Cole Swindell and The Cadillac Three.

Hunter Mountain officials could not immediately be reached for comment Tuesday.

Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. and can be purchased at trailblazerfest.com.

Pre-sale prices for admission start at $199 for general admission, $550 for Empire VIP passes and $1,525 for Empire VIP Reserved passes.

Both VIP passes include VIP entry; a VIP viewing area; VIP only performances; Wi-Fi; charging stations, games and activities; private restrooms; complimentary massage and hair-braiding stations; a complimentary buffet; coffee bar; and non-alcoholic beverages.

The VIP Reserved passes additionally have covered reserved seating with an elevated view of the stage, a gift pack and a catered dinner and all inclusive bar with beer, wine and spirits.

Pre-sale camping options include tenting starting at $50, car camping starting at $150 and RV camping starting at $370.

A new option for next year’s festival are the Kaatskill Deluxe Tents. These preset tents can be equipped with queen, twin or cot bedding.

Another new addition is a second stage, known as “Next From Nashville.” The lineup for the second stage will be announced in the coming months, according to a statement from Live Nation.

Live Nation manages other country music festivals throughout the nation including Watershed in George, Washington; Faster Horses in Brooklyn, Michigan; Seven Peaks in Buena Vista, Colorado, and Tortuga Music Festival in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

The three-day Mountain Jam, a four-day festival showcasing alternative rock, classic rock and funk ended its run at Hunter Mountain last year and moved to Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, near Woodstock.

Mountain Jam organizers announced Jan. 24 that the event, one of the nation’s top summer rock festivals, was moving out.

“The organizers of Mountain Jam, which is now under new ownership, informed us that after 14 years the festival will not take place at Hunter Mountain in 2019,” according to a statement released Feb. 1 by Hunter Mountain.

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers played one of their final concerts at Mountain Jam. Beck, Alabama Shakes and the Black Keys exemplified contemporary rock’s diversity and virtuosity there. And breakout acts such as the Record Company, Alice Merton and Portugal the Man found new listeners there.
